Tata Nigeria has a State of the Art Workshop and Service Centre at Amuwo Odofin with separate bays for Tata Commercial Vehicles, Pick-ups and Cars and accident repair shop with panel beating & painting facilities. To backup the Workshop, we have a large Spare Parts Store with all necessary Genuine Tata Spare Parts for Tata vehicles sold in Nigeria.

The After Sales Service of the company is headed by the Head – Technical Division who supervises over the Workshop Division, Spare Parts Division and Customer Care Department and each is headed by an able Manager.

Workshop Department

The Workshop is headed by a Tata trained Manager with an experience in excess of 25 years in the service of Tata vehicles and is supported by two more Tata trained Engineers. Under them, there are eight expert supervisors and fifty trained technicians plus helpers, trainees and washers, ensuring timely deliveries with quality repairs / servicing of Tata vehicles.

The Workshop is fully equipped with modern equipment like Pneumatic Wrenches, Two & Four Post Lifts, Wheel Balancing & Alignment Machines, Battery Chargers, Washer Units, Pneumatic Greasers, Arbour Press, Grinders, Hydraulic Jacks, etc. It has separate rooms for Engine repairs, Electrical repairs and Machine shop.

Spare parts department

The department is headed by a Tata trained Manager with long experience in the field of Tata vehicles Spare Parts supported by Assistant Managers and Supervisors to take care of all vital functions like ordering, inventory control and sales, to ensure continuous availability of Genuine Tata Spare Parts. They are assisted by twenty trained, computer literate and experienced assistants.

The Spare Parts department is spread on a six thousand square feet area with an addition of a mezzanine floor and a separate warehouse for stocking bulky items. It stores close to 8500 line items of spare parts in excess of US Dollars 1.5 million.

Customer Care Division

The department is headed by a an able and strong Manager with an experience of fifteen years in the field of Customer Care in the Nigerian automobile market who is assisted by experienced, trained & smart Service Advisors and Receptionists.

Branches

A Tata Workshop & Service Station has just been opened at Port Harcourt to cater to Tata customers there, as well as in the neighbouring states.

Workshops & Service Stations are also in operation in Abuja & Kano with 3S Facilities. An Authorised Service Station has been opened in Ibadan.

New Authorised Service Station is being opened in Enugu which is likely to be functional by August 2011. Authorised Workshops & Service Stations are being established in other cities soon to facilitate the service & repairs of Tata vehicles throughout the length & breadth of the country. Locations are being looked at are Akure, Asaba, Benin City, etc. Two or three of such Workshops are likely to be in operation by the end of 2011.

Services Offered

Apart from Workshops, Tata Nigeria has three Mobile Service Vans to attend to any break-downs which may occur on any Tata vehicle. Two more such vehicles are being added to the fleet by August 2011.

A 25 Ton Towing Truck has been commissioned for recovery of Tata Trucks & Buses and a Recovery Van is being constructed for carefully bring failed Tata Cars & Pick-ups to the Workshops.

The company is in the process of making Mobile Workshops to be able to undertake service, handle minor repairs and attend to break-downs at the place of failure or at the owner’s premises. One of each of such workshops will be placed in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja or Kano.

Training

The company has engaged the services of a full time trainer to train the customer’s drivers, technicians and operators on topics like Safe & Defensive Driving, the Checkups, Preventive Maintenance and correct operation of Tata vehicles & the equipment fitted on them. An experienced trainer is being invited from India for a period of one month every year for a more comprehensive & detailed training to customer’s technicians.

Presently, a Training Room has been set up at Amuwo Odofin premises. The company is however creating a Training Section in its other premises in Lagos where there will be facility for a lecture room as well as halls for keeping vehicle training aggregates and conducting practical lessons. This facility is likely to be ready by September 2011.
